Problem
Children learning to navigate the internet may face increased vulnerability to potential online risks as they are still developing their understanding of responsible online behavior. Moreover, it's observed that specific digital tools available in the market may not effectively cater to children's natural curiosity or encourage independent exploration. Consequently, children may encounter challenges and negative emotions, such as shame or embarrassment, when confronted with harmful situations.
Research
After conducting market research, user journey planning, proto-persona creation, and competitive analysis, DIG was developed over a three-week period to provide a solution.
DIG, a digital intelligence guardian, encourages discovery at an age-appropriate pace for children beginning to navigate the internet. DIG filters content based on the child's comprehension level, measured by specialized user data and quizzes. DIG also alerts the guardian user of activity that may threaten the child and provides educational tools for them. DIG’s model is built to nurture healthy communication and connection in person and online.
